What it is. Vitamin D3 is the form produced in human skin upon UVB exposure. It functions more like a pro-hormone than a classic vitamin, influencing gene expression across hundreds of genes after conversion to its active form.
What it does. D3 drives intestinal calcium absorption — making it foundational to bone health. Without adequate vitamin D, the body cannot absorb sufficient calcium regardless of dietary intake. Insufficiency affects over 40% of the U.S. population.
Why we include it. Vitamin D3 is the upstream driver of calcium metabolism. At 2,000 IU, the dose is calibrated to meaningfully address widespread insufficiency and ensure calcium can reach bone tissue.
What it is. Manganese is an essential trace mineral required for the function of several enzymes involved in bone formation, cartilage synthesis, and antioxidant defense.
What it does. Manganese is a cofactor for glycosyltransferases — enzymes required for the synthesis of proteoglycans in cartilage and bone matrix. It also activates prolidase, necessary for collagen formation, and is part of mitochondrial superoxide dismutase (MnSOD).

What it is. HMB is a metabolite of the branched-chain amino acid leucine. It is produced naturally in small amounts but requires supplementation to reach clinically relevant levels.
What it does. HMB supports muscle protein synthesis and reduces muscle protein breakdown. Because muscle and bone health are intimately connected — muscle contractions stimulate bone remodeling — HMB indirectly supports bone density through its effects on muscle mass and strength.
